THE DEMOCRATIC DECLARATION
His Majesty King Charles III
Buckingham Palace
London SW1A 1AA
United Kingdom
Your Majesty,
I write this letter on behalf of concerned citizens of the United Kingdom, who wish to respectfully request Your Majesty’s consideration of the current state of the nation’s government. We feel it is our duty to bring to Your Majesty’s attention critical concerns regarding the Labour government’s policies and the broader implications for our nation’s well-being.
Legitimacy Concerns: Representation and Ideological Alignment
It is crucial to highlight that the current Labour government was elected by only approximately 20% of the nation's eligible voters. This figure suggests that Labour was able to form a government not with the backing of the majority, but effectively by appealing to a narrow segment of the population. In essence, the Labour Party seems to have voted itself into power, without securing the broad mandate necessary to govern a country as diverse as the United Kingdom. We believe this raises serious concerns about the legitimacy of the government’s mandate, particularly when it comes to the implementation of policies that will affect the entire nation.
Moreover, we draw attention to the fact that a significant portion of the Labour government, along with civil servants in Parliament, are members of the Fabian Society, an organization whose long-standing goals include the gradual implementation of socialist policies. This alignment raises serious concerns about conflict of interest within the government. When a significant proportion of government members are affiliated with an organization that espouses a particular ideological agenda, it calls into question whether the government is acting in the interest of the entire country or merely advancing its own ideological objectives. In a democratic system, such ideological capture should not be allowed, as it undermines the principle of governance for all citizens, not just a select few.
Grave Consequences of Labour’s Devolution Program
For an extended period, long-term residents of the United Kingdom have been diligently gathering evidence of the devastating consequences of the devolution program aggressively pursued by the Labour government. This program, while presented as a means of decentralizing power, appears to many to mirror key elements of the Communist Manifesto, particularly in its redistribution of authority from national governance to local authorities. This is happening regardless of whether these local bodies have the capabilities or the public’s trust to make decisions that align with the national interest.
Under the banner of climate emergency, we are witnessing an ironic and tragic reality: animals are being abused, culled, and mass slaughtered, while nature itself is being systematically destroyed. Solar panels, once hailed as a solution, are now being categorized as outdated technology. Meanwhile, wind turbines, another so-called eco-friendly innovation, are killing birds and disrupting entire ecosystems. The very phrase "climate emergency" or "save the planet" seems to have taken on a perverse meaning—to save the planet as a globe by sacrificing all life on it.
Furthermore, under the so-called housing emergency, many local authorities, when asked to provide government-required evidence to justify such a crisis, have been unable to do so. Yet, despite this lack of justification, wildlife, natural habitats, and our treasured British heritage continue to be destroyed in the name of development. All of this is happening with little regard for the voices of concerned citizens who object to these reckless actions.
It seems that in both cases—climate and housing—the solutions being pursued are causing more harm than good, prioritizing destruction over preservation and silencing those who stand for the protection of life and the environment.
Financial Mismanagement and Global Influence
Adding to this is the concern that trillions of pounds are being funnelled into initiatives that do not prioritize the welfare of the British people. Instead of focusing on national economic stability, the protection of public services, or the well-being of its citizens, the government appears to be spending vast sums on issues largely driven by global NGOs. These non-governmental organizations heavily influence local authorities and, by extension, dictate national policy in ways that seem disconnected from the true needs of the British people.
We believe this is a severe mismanagement of the national budget, leading to the neglect of essential services and infrastructure. Even more alarming is the fact that only 10% of local councils have provided a proper audit covering their financial activities over the past five years. The remaining councils have amassed billions in debt while refusing to disclose their spending details. Instead of taking accountability, they deflect blame onto previous governments, citing bad administration as their excuse.
This lack of transparency and accountability only deepens the growing sense of unease among the population, who witness their natural surroundings, history, and cultural heritage being dismantled in the name of ideological conformity, all while financial mismanagement and public neglect go unchecked
Historical Precedent of Monarchical Intervention
We are aware that direct intervention from the Crown is rare, but there is a historical precedent for such action within the Commonwealth. In 1975, during the Australian constitutional crisis, Queen Elizabeth II’s representative, Governor-General Sir John Kerr, dissolved the Australian government when it failed to maintain parliamentary support. While the political circumstances were different, this action highlights the importance of the Crown in upholding democratic principles and ensuring that governance reflects the will and welfare of the people.
Legal and Constitutional Grounds
We also respectfully cite Section 3 of the Representation of the People Act 1983, which underscores that government is by consent of the governed. When a government ceases to represent the majority of its citizens and instead follows policies driven by external influences, it risks alienating the very people it is supposed to serve. Furthermore, under the Royal Prerogative, Your Majesty possesses the discretionary authority to dissolve Parliament. While this is typically exercised on the advice of the Prime Minister, we believe the exceptional circumstances we are witnessing today warrant consideration for Your Majesty’s involvement.
Our Request
We, the undersigned citizens, respectfully request that Your Majesty uses Your constitutional authority to dissolve the current government and call for fresh elections. We are also requesting that these elections be conducted under revised electoral regulations to ensure that the process is fair, truly democratic, and accurately reflects the opinions and preferences of real, living British citizens. It is our belief that only through such measures can the integrity of our democracy be restored and the voice of the people genuinely heard. The actions of the Labour government, especially in their pursuit of the devolution program and financial mismanagement, are leading to the destruction of the very fabric of this nation—its heritage, natural beauty, and the well-being of its citizens. These decisions appear to be driven not by the interests of the British people but by ideologues and global influences that do not align with the needs of our country.
